Potomac Presbyterian Church Legacy Giving
Legacy Giving, alternatively referred to as Planned Giving, addresses long term financial needs of our church and faith community. In this way, Legacy Giving is distinct from annual giving during our Generosity Campaign. We thank the many members of the Steeple Society who have remembered our church in their estate planning as well as to those who know eternal rest and from whom PPC has received bequests.
We are most grateful for this heartfelt support of the PPC ministries and programs that sustain us all.
Legacy Giving asks of us the questions:
- What do we want our legacy to be?
- Do we want to ensure that the things we care most about, perhaps including family and church, continue to thrive when we are gone?
- What are some ways we may be able to ensure that, "Caring for ALL with Faith, Hope & Love" continues through our faith community?
Some of us may prefer to provide long term support during our lifetime through annuities, which provide on-going income, or contributions to either the PPC Faithful Giving Fund, from which principal and earnings may be used, or the PPC General Endowment Fund, from which earnings only are available.
Available now in the church office is a simple codicil you may add to your will to make some of these changes easy and accessible. There are many mutually beneficial ways to leave financial resources to the Church which you may discuss with a professional, if you have an attorney or financial advisor. Additionally, please feel free to contact Pastor Emily, Elsie Reid, Chris Dowd Jeanne Grillo or me, Gregg Johnson, for questions or information as you think through your legacy giving.
