On Monday, July 27, Rev. Larry Duncan began his ministry at Potomac Presbyterian Church as our new Interim Pastor. Rev. Duncan joined us from Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, North Carolina; PPC is Reverend Duncan's fourth interim assignment. In addition to Westminster Presbyterian, he also served as interim pastor at Presbyterian congregations in Richmond, Virginia and St. Petersburg, Florida. Before becoming an intentional interim pastor in 2004, Rev. Duncan served in senior pastor positions going back to the 1980's.
In Rev. Duncan’s own words, “It appears that our times could be compared to the times of Samuel which the Bible describes saying, ‘And the word of the Lord was rare in those days.’ The church needs to speak that word and remember that we have not been called to be successful but faithful in our service to God and neighbor.”
Rev. Duncan and his wife, Licia, have been married 33 years and are the parents of two grown daughters. Larry describes his hobbies as "golf, cooking and spoiling our two grandsons every chance I get."
