20th Mission Trip – Raleigh, North Carolina, June 17-23, 2018

On June 17, twenty three PPC youth and adults (and staff) will depart after worship to Raleigh NC for June 17-23. We will commission the participants during the worship service at 10am.
This year we will be working with Raleigh Youth Mission Co (RYMCo, https://raleigh.youthmissionco.org/), an organization connected with PC(USA) and First Presbyterian Church-Raleigh. In a break from our typical mission trips we will be spending the week focusing on urban mission in downtown Raleigh, NC. We’ll be engaging with the local community to understand poverty at all levels by going to senior centers, local food banks, school summer programs and working with Habitat for Humanity.
This year is different because we will not be spending the work doing construction but our focus will be in building direct relationships with the Raleigh community – by working ‘with’ the community, not ‘for’ the community.
During this 20th Mission Trip, in PPC tradition, we are excited for the opportunity for our participants to learn about our own faith and sharing the love of Jesus in a new and exciting way.
Please keep the Mission Team  in your prayers, you will be able to follow their adventures in the blog that they will maintain daily https://ppcyouth.org/blog/. You can also follow RYMCo’s Facebook Page for their photos throughout the week: https://www.facebook.com/ralythmission/?ref=br_rs
Then be sure to join us on Sunday, June 24, at 10am, when the trip participants will lead worship through prayer, art, and reflection. There will be a brunch following worship to thank you for your continued support of our Annual Mission Trip.
